Pasteurization Systems: The Overlooked Component in Efficient Biogas Operations

In biogas power plants, digestate—the residual material remaining after anaerobic digestion—still contains potentially harmful bacteria and pathogens. Direct application of this material to agricultural land can pose environmental and public health risks. To ensure safe reuse, it must undergo a controlled hygiene process in compliance with international and local regulations. Ariş Enerji has developed a reliable and efficient pasteurization system designed specifically for this purpose.

The system ensures that all incoming material is heated to a minimum of 70°C and maintained at this temperature for at least one hour, effectively eliminating harmful microorganisms. This process not only supports environmental protection but also enables the digestate to be safely utilized as a valuable organic fertilizer.

Engineered with durability and performance in mind, the pasteurization unit is constructed using high-quality 304-grade steel, providing excellent resistance to corrosion and long service life. The system is fully insulated with an aluminum coating to minimize heat loss and optimize energy efficiency. Depending on project requirements, various heating options can be integrated, allowing flexibility in energy sources such as hot water, steam, or thermal oil.

The unit is equipped with an advanced automation system that ensures precise temperature control and process reliability. Continuous temperature logging is included as standard, enabling full traceability and compliance with regulatory standards.
