Question from webinar: Hi from GHD in Canada! Question for @bright_niraj – do you have many real examples of Biogenic CO2 used for food-grade use? We haven’t seen this application very much in Canada and the US. We have perhaps a few examples of CO2 used for greenhouses. Can you also comment on the importance of the proximity of the offtaker to reduce emissions from transporting the CO2?

We can find real-world examples where biogenic CO2 is utilized for food-grade applications.
Regarding the second question on the proximity of the off-taker, being closer is beneficial because it reduces CO2 emissions during transportation from the production site to the end client. Additionally, since liquid CO2 is stored at approximately -27°C, the longer the transportation time, the more likely it is that some boil-off gas will be produced, even with proper insulation.
