Job Description

Air Liquide is seeking a skilled technician to ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and improvement of process engineering plants, particularly air separation units. The role involves conducting inspections, overseeing maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, and supporting engineering projects. Ideal candidates have a background in electrical engineering or mechatronics, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with teams.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out and documenting regular inspections and plant tours within the area of ​​responsibility
  • Organization/monitoring/implementation/documentation of maintenance measures
  • Preparation of maintenance plans, monitoring of external companies as well as construction site monitoring and acceptance
  • Ensuring the proper operation of the process engineering systems in the area of ​​responsibility, including elimination of technical faults and commissioning and decommissioning of (partial) systems
  • Operation of process engineering plants (air separation plants) as well as commissioning and decommissioning of (partial) plants in the area of ​​responsibility in coordination with the supervisor
  • Suggesting technical improvements to reduce operating costs or improve performance
  • Creating and updating procedures and operating instructions
  • Management and monitoring of spare parts inventory in the area of ​​responsibility including initiation of spare parts procurement
  • Supporting the Engineering department in the implementation of projects within the area of ​​responsibility
  • Participation in the 24-hour on-call service for the tank farms in the area of ​​responsibility

Job Qualifications

  • Successfully completed vocational training in electrical engineering, mechatronics or comparable professional qualification with previous knowledge
  • Experience in operating process engineering plants, ideally in the field of industrial gases
  • Solid general knowledge in the areas of mechanical engineering (especially compressors and pumps), measurement and control technology, operation of pressure equipment systems, electrical engineering
  • sense of responsibility and high self-motivation
  • Ability to understand complex problems, develop solutions and implement them
  • Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
  • High level of organization and structured and systematic working methods
  • Ability to work in a team, high level of commitment, assertiveness, flexibility and a confident demeanor
  • Good user knowledge of MS Office/Google suits
  • Willingness to participate in regular on-call duty
  • Willingness to travel within Germany (max 10% of working time)
