By The HoSt Group

As the United States has emerged as the world’s largest and fastest-growing market for Renewable Natural Gas (RNG), The HoSt Group made the bold, strategic move to expand into North America with a legitimate local presence.

Since establishing our U.S. headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, we’ve built a powerhouse team of over 30 local experts, spanning project management and service, engineering, and operations, all of which are dedicated to delivering high-performance RNG solutions with impressive responsiveness and technical support.

Across the United States, HoSt has delivered approximately 40 biogas upgrading systems, several CO₂ liquefaction plants, and seven full-scale anaerobic digester projects, which serve dairies from 6,000 to over 30,000 wet cow equivalents (WCE).

This incredible progress in a short amount of time reflects our leadership in deploying reliable, high-performance renewable energy solutions at scale.

At the HoSt Group, we empower our customers with a fully integrated portfolio of in-house technologies which are engineered to maximize efficiency, unlock synergies, and generate new revenue streams. Backed by decades of innovation and project success, our proven technologies include the following.

1. Anaerobic Digestion Technology

With over 100 anaerobic digestion (AD) plants built worldwide, HoSt brings enviable experience in processing a wide range of feedstocks from dairy-only installations to complex co-digestion systems where materials like slaughterhouse waste, food waste, straw, sugar beets, distillery byproducts, and others are digested. Whatever the feedstock, we deliver proven performance and reliability.

2. Three-Stage Membrane Biogas Upgrading

Our proven 3-stage membrane upgrading system is built on a standardized platform that accelerates delivery timelines and reduces total project costs without compromising performance or quality. Highly automated and reliable, it ensures maximum uptime with minimal operator input.

3. CO2 Liquefaction

Designed as a seamless extension to our gas upgrading system, our CO₂ liquefaction technology transforms the tail gas stream into a valuable, food and beverage-grade liquid CO₂.

As a result of us using CO₂ as the refrigerant, we eliminate the need for harmful substances like Freon, which has a higher global warming potential. The system not only captures additional value but also recycles any residual methane back into the upgrader, maximizing overall efficiency and thus, its environmental performance.

4. Deoxygenation Technology

Stringent oxygen injection limit? No problem! With our low-pressure deoxygenation technology, we can bring the O2 content down to 5 ppm (0.0005%). The system’s low-pressure process seamlessly integrates into our gas upgrading unit and allows for the unit’s electricity consumption to be very low.

5. Steam Methane Reformation for Hydrogen Production

As interest in hydrogen continues to grow, demand for our Hy.Gen unit is accelerating. This compact, containerized solution produces clean hydrogen from natural gas or RNG—offering a fast, flexible, and efficient path to decentralized hydrogen generation.

Its plug-and-play design makes it an ideal fit for small to mid-scale applications where space, speed, and simplicity matter.

Whether you’re exploring a complete RNG solution, need advanced upstream gas technologies, or are venturing into hydrogen production, our team is here to help. Connect with a HoSt representative to start the conversation and visit our website!
