The Spanish Biomass Association  (AVEBIOM), as the organizing entity, and the Spanish Biogas Association  (AEBIG), as the technical partner , announce the celebration of the 5th Renewable Gas Fair and the 18th International Bioenergy Congress, which will take place on October 1 and 2, 2025 at the Valladolid Fair.

Following the success of the fourth edition, which brought together 3,615 professionals and 250 exhibiting companies this year, 23% more than in 2023, the show has established itself as the main meeting forum for the renewable gas sector in Spain, Portugal and Latin America.

The 5th Renewable Gas Fair  will offer the best platform for companies and technology centres to present their latest developments in biogas, biomethane and other renewable gases. In parallel, the 18th International Bioenergy Congress  will once again be dedicated exclusively to showcasing the latest technological advances and discussing market opportunities and strategies to improve social acceptance and ensure the successful implementation of projects in the territory.

Javier Díaz , president of AVEBIOM, underlines the importance of this event to boost a sector that is at the very heart of the energy paradigm shift: "Spain has the potential to be the third country in Europe in terms of biomethane generation, and this should be a source of inspiration for all the actors involved in the energy transition. The trade fair and congress will be the epicentre of knowledge, innovation and exploration of opportunities in 2025. I encourage companies, institutions and professionals to meet in Valladolid and work together to ensure the consolidation of renewable gases in Spain."

For his part, the president of AEBIG, Luis Puchades , highlights that "biogas is presented as a comprehensive solution, generating renewable energy, reducing emissions and efficiently managing organic waste. In addition, it promotes organic agriculture and the production of biofertilizers, being essential for the development of a full circular economy that directly benefits the agricultural sector and rural areas. The show is consolidated as the reference forum to connect innovators, investors, administrations and companies, with the aim of promoting a sustainable energy future. It is an essential event that no professional in the sector should miss."

The Spanish biogas and biomethane market has been showing great dynamism in recent months, with dozens of projects under development, strategic investments and a biomethane production potential of 163 TWh/year, which would cover nearly 45% of the national demand for natural gas. The moment is crucial and requires decisively addressing social and regulatory challenges in order to guarantee sustainable growth and the full integration of biomethane into the national energy matrix.
