INTRUPTor – Mid: Introducing a Revolutionary Biogas Upgrading Solution That Will Reduce Capital and Operating Costs Up to 50%

By Hydron Energy
The INTRUPTor – Mid
Hydron Energy’s INTRUPTor system uses a novel biomimicry metal organic framework that operates under ambient conditions and significantly simplifies the plant design as well as fabrication requirements for Biogas Upgrading Plants.
As a result, the INTRUPTor reduces capital and operating costs by up to 50% and delivers 80% lower greenhouse gas emissions compared to other available commercial products.
Hydron Energy offers the INTRUPTor system for various-sized projects. Our INTRUPTor -Mid solution will upgrade biogas for flow rates from 220 – 1000 Nm3/hr at agriculture facilities with anaerobic digesters, wastewater treatment plants, and landfills.
Hydron also offers the INTRUPTor – Mobile and Mini for smaller projects and the INTRUPTor – Max for larger projects.

Achieving Price Parity with Fossil Fuels
For landfill and wastewater treatment biogas upgrading, the INTRUPTor system is even more cost-effective.
Hydron’s INTRUPTor is a game-changing solution that achieves $2.5/GJ for the levelized cost of renewable natural gas (RNG) production, which is competitive with natural gas prices.
Using conventional biogas upgrading technologies, RNG production from landfills and wastewater treatment plants cannot compete with natural gas without regulatory incentives.
Commercialization
Hydron Energy successfully operated its mobile unit at a farm in Ontario, Canada, in 2024, producing excellent results.
In 2025, the company received its first order from a farm in Ontario, Canada, for an INTRUPTor – Mid plant.
Additionally, Hydron has entered into a Commercial Collaboration Agreement with FortisBC to conduct a feasibility study on multiple biogas upgrading projects in B.C., starting with a landfill project in the Greater Vancouver region.
Hydron has also actively pursued projects in the United States with Northwest Natural Gas to unlock multiple wastewater treatment plant projects in Oregon and Washington State.
Hydron Energy is now taking orders for all sizes of INTRUPTor systems.
