In the heartland of Kansas, USA, a dairy farm is transforming waste into value. Developed by PlanET Biogas and powered by PRODEVAL’s VALOPUR 04 biogas upgrading technology, the project converts dairy manure into clean, pipeline-ready RNG – which is turning agricultural by-products into a source of local, renewable energy.

Energy That Works with the Farm

Commissioned in October 2023, the system upgrades 460 scfm of biogas into 247 scfm of RNG.

Fully containerized and built to withstand Kansas climate conditions (from –18°F to 105°F), the unit delivers >99.5% methane recovery and >97% uptime, matching the highest performance standards in the RNG industry.

Thanks to its robust engineering and intelligent automation, the solution integrates seamlessly into the farm’s day-to-day operations.

The RNG is injected into the nearest gas pipeline, supporting national decarbonization goals while offering the farm a stable, long-term revenue stream.

Meanwhile, the digestate is reused as natural fertilizer, creating a circular, resource-efficient model that benefits both the farm and nearby croplands.

Maximizing Farm Value Through RNG

Each year, this installation prevents over 7,000 tons of CO2 emissions, turning a traditional farming operation into a driver of environmental progress.

By harnessing high-performance upgrading technology, this project proves that agriculture in the U.S. can be both productive and climate-positive — generating clean, local energy while supporting the long-term sustainability of rural communities.

It’s a powerful example of how biogas can become a pillar of the American low-carbon economy.
