Successful Project for Ariş Enerji Inc.: Launch of Industrial-Scale Wastewater Nutrient Recovery Demo by NPHarvest in Ankara
In July 2025, a Finnish cleantech startup, NPHarvest, launched an industrial-scale demo unit at the Aslan Biomass biogas plant in Türkiye to recover the nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater. Ariş Enerji Inc. played an integral part in this launch, providing design, manufacturing and integrating various services throughout the project.
About the Project
Burak Yildiz, Electronics Engineer and Managing Partner of Ariş Enerji Inc., spoke about the role the company played in the successful launch of NPHarvest’s unit in Ankara, Türkiye, as well as the scope of Ariş’s specializations.
“Ariş Enerji Inc. is primarily an engineering and R&D company,” said Burak Yildiz, “We manufacture and design processes and equipment in accordance with our customers’ needs. A key factor in our process is that we have the infrastructure and capability to produce what we design.”
He mentioned that this was one of the most challenging projects that Ariş Enrji Inc. was involved in to date. “NPHarvest developed the conceptual design of the Nutrition Catcher, and we at Ariş Enerji contributed to the basic design. Detailed engineering and detailed design were carried out by the Ariş Enerji team, which also handled the production phase. We manufactured some of the equipment, while select equipment was purchased by NPHarvest on our behalf.”
This is not the first time that Ariş Enerji Inc. has played a key role in developing projects. To date, they have more than 100 reference plants that have used their equipment.
“In recent years, we started exporting. Finland is a key destination for our exports. In other countries, such as Greece, Mongolia, and Colombia, we have also installed products. Currently, we have an ongoing project in Somalia,” said Burak. “As a final word, we want to be a reliable equipment manufacturer globally.”
